Targeting
First-page view
6min
Description:
The "First Page View" filter facilitates targeting visitors based on the initial page they land on when they first arrive at the website. This filter combines conditions related to the visitor's first page interaction and the time frame of that interaction.
Conditions:
- Primary Conditions:
- Was: Target visitors who had their first-page view on the specified Page Rule.
- Was Not: Exclude visitors who had their first page view on the specified Page Rule.
- Is Now: Target visitors who are currently having their first page view on the specified Page Rule.
- Temporal Conditions:
- In the last (X days): Targets visitors whose first page view was within the specified number of days.
- On or after (Date): Targets visitors whose first page view happened on or after a particular date.
- Before (Date): Targets visitors whose first page view occurred before a certain date.
Use Cases:
- Engaging New Visitors: For those whose first interaction was recent, use "Was" combined with "in the last" to present a tailored offer.
- Re-engaging Older Visitors: If a visitor's first page view was a long time ago (using "Was" combined with "Before"), you can present them with updates or reintroduction offers.
- Immediate Engagement: Using "Is Now", capture and engage visitors who are having their first-ever interaction in real-time.
How to Use:
- Navigate to the 'Targeting' section in the Personizely dashboard.
- Click on 'Add Filter'.
- From the dropdown menu, select 'First Page View'.
- Choose your desired primary condition (Was, Was Not, Is Now).
- Pair it with the appropriate temporal condition (in the last, on or after, before) and specify the relevant days or dates.
- Save your filter, and it will now be active for any widget or campaign where you apply the Target on.
Notes:
- Ensure the Page Rule and date criteria are inputted correctly to ensure accurate targeting.
- Use combinations in good judgment for best results without overloading visitors with too many personalized elements.
