Product pages with tags rule
The Product pages with tags rule shows a widget only on the pages of products that carry one of the tags you list, or on every page except them. Because it reads the product's tags when the page loads, it keeps working as you tag new products, with no need to edit the widget.
Available on: Shopify · Shopify Hydrogen
How it works
The rule reads Show on (or Don't show on) followed by a list of tags. When the page loads, Personizely checks the tags of the product on the current product page.
Setting | The widget can show on |
|---|---|
Show on | Product pages whose product has any of the listed tags |
Don't show on | Every page except product pages whose product has any of the listed tags, including pages that aren't product pages |
Configuration
Option | What it does | Values / default |
|---|---|---|
Show on / Don't show on | Include or exclude the matching product pages | Show on |
Tags | The product tags to match | One or more tags, e.g. Accessories |
Behavior details and limitations
- Tags must match exactly, including case. Sale doesn't match sale. Copy the tag from the product in Shopify.
- Any tag is enough. To require two tags at once, add two rules; rules combine with AND.
- "Don't show on" includes other pages. To show a widget on product pages except tagged ones, add a Pages rule with the Show on product pages template as well.
- Shopify needs the app embed to know the product on the page. Hydrogen needs usePageContext with the product's tags on your product route. See Install on Shopify Hydrogen.
- Checked at page load.
Examples
- Pre-order notice: Show on products tagged preorder, with a bar explaining shipping dates.
- No discount on new arrivals: Pages "Show on product pages" plus Product pages with tags "Don't show on" new-arrival.
Troubleshooting
- Widget doesn't show on a tagged product → the tag's case or spelling differs, or the Personizely app embed is off in the current theme.
