Website settings
Website settings control how Personizely runs on one website: its domain and currency, how visitors are tracked and orders attributed, which traffic is filtered, and the shared building blocks your widgets and campaigns use. Open them from Settings in the sidebar. Each website in your account has its own settings, so switch to the right website first. See Multiple websites.
Who can change them: account owners and admins. Users can view settings, and can manage goals, custom fields, placeholders, parsers and features. See Account, team and roles.

Website
Setting | What it does | Values / default |
|---|---|---|
Domain | The website's address. Used to check your installation and to name the website in the website switcher | Set when you add the website |
Currency | The currency reports show revenue in, and the default currency for the snippet | Any currency. Default: USD |
Store password | Lets Personizely open a password-protected Shopify storefront: in the campaign editor, the installation check and page previews | Empty. Shopify only |
Show the Powered by Personizely logo | Shows a small badge on popups, bars and callouts | Off for new websites. Appears only while the badge is on; see Branding |
The Code block shows how Personizely is installed:
- Shopify: the status of the Code snippet app embed, with a link to turn it on. See Install on Shopify.
- Other platforms: the script tag to paste before </head>, Email your developer to send it, and Check code to verify it. See Install on any website.
Delete website permanently deletes the website and all its data. It appears only when the account has more than one website. See Multiple websites.
Tracking
Setting | What it does | Values / default |
|---|---|---|
Cookie lifetime | How long the visitor cookie lasts. After it expires, a returning visitor is treated as new | 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. Default: 1 year. See Cookies and consent |
Attribution window | How long after a visitor sees a campaign or widget their goals are credited to it | 2–30 days. Default: 7 days. See Revenue attribution |
Asynchronous script loading | Adds async to the snippet so it doesn't block page rendering | On (default). On Shopify the change applies automatically; elsewhere copy the code to your site again. See Performance and flicker |
Pause tracking | Stops all tracking, widgets and campaigns on this website. No visitors are counted toward your quota while paused | Off (default). See Plans, visitor quota and pausing |
Track profit analytics | Records profit for each order from Shopify's product costs, for profit metrics in reports | Off (default). Premium plan, Shopify. Asks for permission to read inventory data the first time. See Shopify order tracking and profit |
Calculate shipping price towards profit | Counts the shipping the customer paid as profit | Off (default). Shown when profit analytics is on |
Tag orders with campaign attribution | Tags Shopify orders with the campaign and variation that led to them, such as ply_campaign_123 and ply_variation_456 | Off (default). Shopify. Asks for permission to write orders the first time |
Attribute orders | Which Shopify order event counts as the purchase | When the order is paid (default) or When the order is created. Choose created for cash on delivery and other unpaid orders. Shopify |
Security
Include traffic from, Exclude traffic from (countries, IP addresses and IP ranges) and Bot & abuser filtering (off by default; recommended value 5). Filtered visitors aren't counted in reports or toward your visitor quota. Every option is explained in Traffic filtering and bots.
Behavior details and limitations
- Settings are per website. Nothing on this page is shared between websites in the same account. To use the same goals or branding on two websites, set them up on each.
- Changes reach your site when you save. Personizely republishes the website's snippet after you save, so visitors get the new behavior on their next page load.
- Tracking settings aren't retroactive. Changing the attribution window, profit tracking or Attribute orders affects data collected from then on. Past orders and reports aren't recalculated.
- Shorter cookie lifetime, more "new" visitors. A returning visitor whose cookie has expired is counted as a new visitor, gets a fresh variation assignment and counts again toward your quota.
- Some settings depend on your platform. Store password, profit tracking, order tagging and Attribute orders appear only for Shopify stores. Profit tracking also needs a plan that includes it.
